The white dot in the distance is a heron. Lentil and I spied the bird while walking the east bay shoreline park and ceasar chavez parks in Berkeley a couple of weeks ago. (This is my third attempt to post from my iPhone.)
We meant to join our moms group but naps and nursing got in the way.
The shoreline park is at Frontage Road where it intersects with University by the Berkeley Marina. It is reclaimed wetlands, and a lovely bit of solitude and birding. We also spotted a hawk on the hunt.
At ceasar chavez, we cruised over the top of the park, in the off leash area. Beautiful and not over-trafficked, it makes a great mid-day getaway. Quiet
