We have a wonderfully full Meyer lemon tree in our backyard. I picked it clean of ripe lemons yesterday morning, in anticipation of lemon curd. I hoped to have a batch to take to brunch at grown-up BaMa's house this morning. I used Karen Solomon's recipe from Jam It, Pickle It, Cure It: And Other Cooking Projects, which was lovely and easy-peasy.
Mister whipped up two batches of his buttermilk biscuits, one of his wooing-tools from our courting days. (He uses a most perfect recipe fromCookwise: The Secrets of Cooking Revealed.)
We took two little pots of lemon curd to brunch. One was already on the table by this point, and both were nearly gone by the end of the meal. Success!
