How to Miss Your Baby Even When You’re With Her All Day

Lentil and I have been in the car all day. All day. We drove to Santa Cruz to visit a college friend and her daughter (fun!!) and back, which is a long haul for a tiny baby. The stuck-in-carseat-itis was compounded by Saturday's similar scenario — to the farmer's market, home, to birthday party, to store to pick up food for friends with new baby, to Papa's office to say hello to everyone, to friend's house to drop off food. Yikes.
When we got home on Sunday, we took a bath and said good nights and sacked out. Mister, who worked at the office all weekend hardly got to see her, but I missed her even though I was with her because she was mainly in her bucket. When we got home, we slow danced around the living room before baths and bed. It was the first solid cuddle of the day.
On the one hand, I want to visit friends and be social, but it is hard on Lentil (and me) to be cooped up and out of her routine.
So today, we played, we blew bubbles, we read books, we went for a long walk in the Ergo, we rolled around on the ground (and someone flipped over both ways today). Ah, that's more like it!
